A position on the neighborhood council is an official office held in the city of Los Angeles, and requires personal commitment, attendance at monthly board meetings, and that you comply with all applicable ethics laws, code of conduct, and rules of order. In order to be eligible for a position on the board, you must be a stakeholder in the Highland Park Neighborhood Council’s jurisdiction. Stakeholders are defined as an individual who lives, works, owns property, or has a stake in the neighborhood (like attending school, for example). By submitting this application, you acknowledge that you understand these qualifications, and that you further understand the ethical guidelines of holding a public office, and are prepared to comply with those guidelines to the best of your ability.
