Consultation on length of Schools Competition
This year, the TDU is consulting teachers, students, parents and adjudicators with a view to determining the ideal length for the competition roster. We have received a small amount of feedback from students suggesting that a longer competition would be preferred, but are interested in hearing as many perspectives as possible before making a decision on the 2020 competition's length.
For context, the competition currently has six rounds, with Semi-Finals and Finals held once these rounds are completed. The competition is usually scheduled to conclude at the end of term two, although postponements to finals as a result of exams and other extracurricular activities frequently mean that senior divisions conclude early in term three.
Please let us know your views on the competition's length below. We encourage all participants in debating, in whatever capacity, to share their thoughts with us.
