Leaving Certificate Computer Science 2022: Expression of Interest
Please complete this form to express your interest to introduce Leaving Certificate Computer Science (LCCS) as a subject to your school from September 2022.
The details supplied below by your school will help the Department of Education to put an appropriate programme of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in place for teachers. In order to ensure the successful introduction of this new Leaving Certificate subject in your school, it is strongly recommended that schools introducing the subject have appropriate teacher qualifications, experience, ICT requirements and infrastructure in place to cater for this new Leaving Certificate subject. This is a two year longitudinal and sustained model of CPD which will be scheduled to commence during the 2021/22 school year. Full commitment to this CPD programme will be required from teachers with the support of their principals.
This questionnaire should be completed by both the school principal and the teacher who will be teaching Leaving Certificate Computer Science (LCCS) from September 2022. A maximum of two teachers per school can be accommodated on the LCCS CPD programme. If two teachers are to be involved with LCCS in 2022/23, each teacher must complete the questionnaire separately.
You should note that neither late nor incomplete EoIs will be considered. The closing date for completed EoIs is Thursday, February 17, 2022.
Both the principal and relevant teacher(s) must complete this expression of interest form. The same form is used by both principal and teacher(s) but it will branch after section one and should be completed separately.
