Designing the perfect NEB neighbourhood - SHAFE meets the New European Bauhaus
Tuesday April 9th, 14.00-16.00 hours CET
This webinar is a Satellite event of the New European Bauhaus Festival 2024.
The event meets the New European Bauhaus (NEB) values.

In terms of aesthetics and quality of experience beyond functionality, the event on SHAFE will
• Focus on people and places
• Improve the capacities of citizens and ask for their involvement
• Improve the alignment between the built and the digital environment
• Focus on inclusiveness and a lifelong approach
• Focus on coordination and implementation of practical examples in communities

In the event itself, the values of aesthetics and quality of experience will also be reinforced in terms of format. Being an online event, the presentations will be built by a professional designer, including the good practices examples from New European Bauhaus web pages and the reference websites.

In terms of inclusion, the event on SHAFE will foster actions that leverage the potential to promote the existential dignity of all persons, regardless of their age, gender, health, social, educational, economic, cultural and identity conditions, as well as the levels of development of the region where they live – entirely in line with NEB’s inclusion values. Older adults, adolescents, pregnant women, and people with disabilities among others, are target groups that shall be well reflected in the event, as they are specific members of the Garcia family that will be under analysis. In terms of format, also inclusion is considered. The online meeting will be open and accessible to everyone.

The NEB's value of sustainability will be met; the event on SHAFE will foster actions that promote partnerships between sectors, people and environments. Sustainability is at the heart of SHAFE and will also be one main discussion topic in the event, connected to the principles of the Sustainability Development Goals of the UN (in particular with Goal 3 related to health and wellbeing and Goal 11 focused on cities and human settlements) since sustainable age-friendly environments represent the baseline for guaranteeing a better future for the whole population and addressing most of the demographic population issues. Format-wise, the meeting will be fully online, so people do not need to travel. The results will be created in online forms and digitally shared.
