In this workshop we review the basic concept of sample size and power and how to determine the required quantities used in calculations. Furthermore, we discuss how to present and justify sample size in manuscripts, protocols, and grant applications, and what pitfalls to avoid. A basic knowledge of hypothesis testing and study design is assumed.

This workshop is free of charge with priority given to faculty, post-docs, and graduate and professional students at UB and the Buffalo Translational Consortium.
