Pragmatic Design Pedagogy Interventions for Climate Resilience

In response to the impacts of climate change on environmental, societal, technological, and economic systems, students of visual communication design need a new vocabulary and improved skill set to advocate for effective change in a world that is in dire need of it. Designing climate resilience into our companies, communities, and governments means designers need to be aware of the ideas and methods available to them to understand the complexity and interdependence of wicked problems, and interventions that can be designed to move towards desired futures. Students of visual communications or graphic design are often not taught these skills because what they create is not substantially physical in nature. These large-scale issues need to be approached in a multidisciplinary manner, and as the discipline of design is increasingly called upon to participate in this multidisciplinarity, every designer needs to have at least a baseline knowledge of the skills necessary to intervene in our systems in effective ways. 

I've created a deck of small strategies for climate resilience that educators can incorporate into their curricula, with the intention of guiding student mindsets towards environmental sustainability and resilience–something like the IDEO Methods deck. I would love your input in a review of my draft of a few cards from this deck.
