CSE Boost 4 / Application
The Center for Social Entrepreneurship (CSE) Boost is a 9-week social entrepreneurship course for members of an enterprise who are creatively solving social problems within Detroit and desire to become financially sustainable through entrepreneurial best practices, mentoring, and connections to resources. Applicants must be beyond ideation; that is, their enterprise must have a product or service and a beneficiary and some exchange of revenue. The application process will be followed by an interview with CSE staff members.

The overall cost for a single Boost participant is just under $2,000.  Detroit Mercy Alumni and other donors have graciously provided scholarships to lower this expense to make the final tuition cost to you just $500. However, CSE strongly believes that no social entrepreneur shall be denied an opportunity to attend our Boost program. We do ask that every effort must be made by participants to pay the full price. Sliding-scale tuition scholarships are available. If needed, the applicant and CSE staff will discuss the details during the interview process. A non-refundable $75 deposit, due 7 days after your acceptance, reserves your seat.

CSE Boost 4 class sessions will occur on Thursdays, 6-9pm, November 9th - January 25th, at the University of Detroit Mercy, 4001 W. McNichols Rd., Detroit, MI 48221. After the class sessions, you will participate in a pitch event on January 11.

If you would like to apply, please follow these steps carefully:

1. Fill out the application fully and completely so we can best assess your enterprises’ mission, operations, stage of development and your passion to solve social challenges to improve Detroit livelihoods. All the information will be confidential and shared solely among the CSE staff and mentors. The application deadline is September 10, 2017.

2. Please wait to be contacted within 7-10 business days, via email, regarding your follow-up interview.

3. After the interview, we will contact you within a few days regarding your acceptance, non-refundable $75 deposit information, and class cost (sliding scale $200-$500).

4. Once deposit is paid, you are in the class! You will then receive a welcome email before the class begins.

Thank you and hope to see you soon!
