Research Assistant Position with Gulzar and Dipoppa
Professors Saad Gulzar and Gemma Dipoppa are looking to hire a full-time or part-time research assistant to work on research projects related to the political economy of development (for example, environmental conservation, bureaucracy, political representation).

Responsibilities
The position involves a variety of tasks that provide excellent preparation for graduate school or work in data-science-related positions. Work includes tasks such as managing large datasets, handling spatial data, applying machine learning, learning econometrics methods, running analyses, summarizing research findings, and editing research papers. Advanced data analysis skills are required (causal inference, coding in Stata or R or Python). This position is ideal for masters students with a strong interest in pursuing a PhD or a career in data science after acquiring one or two years of research experience. This is a five-month term position starting as early as possible (April) and until the end of the summer. There is the possibility of reappointment for a longer term to a full time pre-doctoral position beginning in the new academic year. For now, work can be done remotely from anywhere. The previous part-time RA in this position have been hired as full-time pre-docs and are on their ways to PhDs.
