This application is for our 12-Month Facilitator Program.
We will continue accepting new students until we reach our cap. If you have questions for us about your application before then, please email training@soundmind.institute.
This program is approximately 250 course hours, and we pride ourselves in being the most comprehensive training program available. Our program contains academic and experiential coursework in contemporary research, psychotherapeutic perspectives, traditional and indigenous plant medicine wisdom, historical context, and mindfulness training. We believe each of these topics is fundamental to ethical and responsible psychedelic practice.
This training program is for clinicians, students, and other devoted, curious individuals to understand the literature and practice of psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy, including the use of ketamine, MDMA, and psilocybin in the therapeutic setting. Please keep in mind that typically 50% of people we accept are NOT clinicians yet, but have an interest in potentially pursuing this life path.
Each week, you are expected to attend a two hour lecture, a 1-hour study group, and to read 5 to 6 articles and be ready to discuss them, and there will be short writing assignments as well for reflection. We expect total time you will need to spend per week on this class to be approximately 10 hours.
This course is experiential in nature, and we will be offering various opportunities to experience breathwork and non-ordinary meditative states during this course—via guided sessions during the Zoom meetings—and asking participants to reflect on these experiences.
Class meets Tuesdays 4-6 p.m. PT/7-9 p.m. ET and starts in September 2025. If you aren’t able to make this time, we can place you in an asynchronous learning group, which is usually what our European students choose to do. The asynchronous group will follow the same pace as the class, but will watch recordings of the class in place of attending class in person. (You will have the entire week to do so.) You can opt into the asynchronous group before the course begins. Accountability groups will take place on Thursday at a variety of times (you can choose). If you choose the asynchronous learning option, you will still receive the same certificate as other students, but you will not qualify to sit for the Oregon Psilocybin Facilitator Exam.
You will receive a certificate of completion from SoundMind at the end of this course if you fulfill all of the course requirements. All students need to complete a 6-day experiential practicum training in order to receive a certificate, and you have 2 years from the end of the course to complete the practicum experience.
If you have questions or would like to reach out to us directly, please email admissions@soundmind.institute
*Please note that for each cohort, topics and guest speakers may change. The list on our website is the list of people who rotate in for teaching. Not everyone will appear in each cohort.
NOTE: Enrollment for class 2024-2025 ended. New applications will be considered for the cohort starting in September 2025.
Thank you!
