VISITOR CODE OF CONDUCT
SISB values and welcomes the rich learning experiences and insights the greater community provides for our students, staff and families. The following code outlines the general minimum conduct expectations for all visitors to SISB. This code is intended to promote a positive learning environment which supports our child safeguarding policies and practices.
1. Visitors are expected to treat others in a professional manner and with respect, upholding high standards of personal behaviour.
2. Visitors are expected to act and speak in a kind and respectful manner, particularly around students.
3. Visitors should not threaten, fight or intimidate anyone they interact with.
4. Visitors should not accept money or gifts from students, or offer money or gifts to students.
5. Visitors should not allow their personal interests to conflict with the school’s requirements or student’s best interests, or use their position improperly to confer an advantage on any person.
6. Visitors are expected to wear their ID badge so that it is clearly displayed at all times.
7. Visitors must report concerns about a student’s welfare, or if a student discloses that they are suffering abuse or reveals information that gives grounds for concern. Visitors must pass on the information immediately to a member of the leadership team.
8. Visitors must not be alone with any students .
9. Visitors must avoid any physical contact with students.
10. Visitors are expected to use designated adult facilities, not student facilities (e.g., toilets, changing rooms).
11. Visitors are expected to seek permission from a member of the leadership team before taking images and videos of students.
12. Visitors are responsible for their own actions and behaviour, and should avoid any conduct which would lead a reasonable person to question their motivation or intentions.
