This grant is intended to help Maine AHPERD members defray some of the personal costs of the conference/convention. (Maine AHPERD will not reimburse a school or district.)The Professional Development Grant program will provide financial support up to $150.00 for registration, meals, lodging or travel expenses to qualified individuals to attend one of these three conferences. A total of 8 grants will be awarded. Applicants must be employed within the disciplines of health, physical education, recreation or dance and must be a member of Maine AHPERD.
The application must be submitted at least 30 days prior to conference/convention.
The purpose of the grant is to encourage participation for many members.Recipients of the professional development grants are not eligible to apply the following year.
Once approved as a grant recipient, a confirmation letter will be mailed along with a reimbursement voucher. Upon attendance at one of the conference/convention, recipients of the grant will mail a copy of their registration, and/or meal, lodging or travel expense receipts, along with the voucher to Kathy Sutton, Maine AHPERD Treasurer, PO Box 193, Rumford, ME 04276.
Consideration will be given to discipline, grade-level and geographical representation. Applicants may not be a current Maine AHPERD executive board member.
