INN Data Request Form
Thank you for your interest in the Institute for Nonprofit News’ (INN) data and research. Please complete the form below to submit a data request to the Index and NewsMatch teams. If you have any questions in the meantime, please contact INN’s research director, Emily Roseman, at emily.r@inn.org.

Before you complete the form below, please read the following terms and conditions:

1. Payment: If your request is relatively straightforward (e.g., a simple data pull), we are happy to offer you this data free of charge. If your request requires our team to run substantial additional analyses, we will reach out to you with an hourly estimate of our team’s time and ask you to cover the expense for the extra time.

2. Confidentiality: With some exceptions, INN is only able to share aggregated and anonymized datasets with external organizations. If your request includes identifying individual newsrooms, INN will require the consent of the individual newsrooms prior to sharing their data.

3. Citations: Please cite the Institute for Nonprofit News as the source of all data received from this request. If the data is from either INN’s Index or NewsMatch, please also cite these programs (e.g., “This dataset was provided from the Institute for Nonprofit News’ 2020 Index survey"). We recommend that you also credit the individual data analyst (e.g. Michele McLellan and/or Jesse Holcomb) if substantial, additional analysis was required.
