The Winnetka Historical Society is celebrating the sesquicentennial of Winnetka by displaying iconic artifacts from each of the 15 decades since the Village's founding in 1869. We are looking for artifacts that tell the story of our Village during the 1970s through today. The exhibit will open in the Fall of 2019 at the Winnetka Historical Society, 411 Linden St, Winnetka, IL.
You can help by…
1. Digging through your treasures to find the most iconic artifacts from the 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s, and this decade. We're looking for items that tell a story about living in Winnetka during each respective era. like shoes, hats, purses, toys, posters, music albums, technology/household gadgets and iconic Winnetka business related items. Submitting photographs of the artifact/s being used or worn are greatly encouraged.
2. Completing and submitting an application to loan your artifact/s to the Winnetka Historical Society.
3. Submissions will be reviewed and final artifacts selected by May 15.
Submission forms are due by April 30, 2019.
If we select your artifact, loan drop-offs will take place May 24-31, 2019 and it will be on display through Fall 2020.
Artifacts will be photographed and put in an online exhibit after the physical exhibition closes.
