MEET YOUR MENTOR:

Niko Stratis is the owner and operator of Switchblade Music Group, a Toronto-based artist agency created specifically to work with trans artists, as well as working to push the industry to be safer and more accessible for trans people, artists, working professionals and audience members alike. Currently working with Alberta-based band Wares, who were recently long-listed for the Polaris Music Prize with their Mint Records debut “Survival”. 

Before this, Niko worked in a variety of different roles, including 2 years as the Executive Director of Music Yukon and running her own record label Headless Owl Records, which released records by artists like Michael Feuerstack, Jon Mckiel, The Burning Hell, By Divine Right and more. 

As one of very few trans women working in the industry, Niko hopes to help boost and support queer and trans artists looking to make moves in the industry.
