Asbury Community Garden - Sign-up Form (2021)
We have 44 total plots for the 2021 Community Garden! We are accepting reservations on a rolling basis to have you and your family be a part of our garden's mission. By joining in the garden project, you agree to help end local hunger by donating at least 50% of your plot's harvest to our community partners. You can reserve a half (5ft x 10ft - $25) or a full plot (5ft x 20ft - $50). We will be in contact with plot assignment and payment instructions once plot is assigned.

Rules, Terms, and Conditions for Participation
If accepted as a gardener, I agree to abide by the following rules, terms, and conditions:
I use this garden at the sole discretion of the Asbury Community Garden. I agree to help end local hunger by donating 50% or more of my plot’s harvest to our community partners.
The fee for the use of this garden is $25.00 per half plot (5’ x 10’) and $50.00 per full plot (5’ x 20’). Payment is due within 10 days of being assigned a plot. There are no refunds. In addition, I understand that all seeds, plants, trellises, tomato cages, etc. will be purchased at my own expense.
I will keep my plot free of weeds, pests, and diseases. Fencing poles will be staked on the inside of the plot, not in the rows, to facilitate mowing. I understand that if my plants spill over into the rows, they may be mowed.
I will keep my plot, paths, and surrounding areas clean and neat. All trash will be disposed of as follows:
- Organic material: dead plants and other green waste taken to the dumpster in the northwest corner of the parking lot
- Recyclables: paper, plastic, and cardboard put in the green bin under the table
- Nursery items: pots, trays, and cell packs put in the blue bin under the table to be recycled by Homewood Nursery
- Other trash: put in the trash cans available in the garden
I will not bring household trash and leave it in the garden.
I will not plant any illegal plants in the garden. I will not smoke, drink alcoholic beverages, or use illegal drugs while in the garden, nor will I come to the garden while under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs. I will not bring weapons to the garden.
I agree to work a minimum of 4 hrs. on group work days or other activities that benefit the whole garden where general garden maintenance and enhancements will be performed. In addition, I agree to participate on a Saturday harvesting team which will harvest once a month for donations to our community partners.
I will water my plot according to water-wise guidelines. I will make arrangements with other Asbury gardeners to water and maintain my plot when I am on vacation or will be out of town for any extended period of time.
I will not apply any non-organic pesticides in the garden without the approval of the garden manager.
I will not take food or plants from other gardeners’ plots. I will not take anything from the garden that is
not rightfully mine.
I will respect other gardeners and will not use abusive or profane language or discriminate against others.
I will work to keep the garden a happy, secure, and enjoyable place where all participants can garden and socialize peacefully in a neighborly manner. I will not be at the garden after dark or during worship hours on Sunday mornings.
