OC APA is excited to launch the 2026 PEEL Mentorship program. The application is due March 27, 2026. 

WHAT IS APA ORANGE PEEL? APA Orange PEEL (PLANNING: EDUCATION + EXPERIENCE + LEADERSHIP) is a mentoring program that builds a valuable network of peers and professionals. It helps to promote a positive atmosphere of career development among all planners throughout Orange County.  

OUR MISSION: The program’s mission is to foster a thriving, impactful mentoring program that continually builds a network of professionals to strengthen the ties within the planning community in Orange County.  

PROGRAM DURATION: Spring 2026 - Winter 2026

PROGRAM STRUCTURE: APA OC will pair each mentor with one to two protégés, who collectively will form a mentoring team. To facilitate communication between mentors and protégés, APA OC will host three group events that PEEL participants can take part in: 

- SPRING 2026: Speed mentoring kick-off event (April 1 from 6pm to 8pm at Clifton C. Miller Community Center, 300 Centennial Way, Tustin, CA 92780)

- SUMMER 2026: Walking tour hosted by mentors 

- FALL 2026: Social hour (PEEL members-only)

- WINTER 2026: Holiday social/Farewell 

COMMITMENT: The program requires participants to commit to a monthly meeting with your PEEL team. These may include participation in any PEEL events or those hosted by APA OC. 

Mentor Commitment:  Mentors are responsible for being available to their protégés through the duration of the PEEL program, which will conclude in Winter 2026. Discussion and meeting topics will be selected as a group. As a mentor, you will provide guidance and support to your protégé(s), share career and professional development advice, and help broaden their knowledge and connections in the planning profession.

Protégé Commitment:  Protégés are responsible for initiating the scheduling of meetings with your mentorship team. Discussion and meeting topics will be selected as a group. 

ELIGIBILITY: You must be a member of the APA Orange Section or live/work in Orange County. 

COST: Protégés will be assessed a $20 participation fee to cover the cost of materials, payable via venmo or cash prior to or at the kick-off event.
