Digital Equity Ambassadors will participate in a paid work-study program, lasting up to 6 months. The program will include a 4 week training on digital literacy and technology navigation. After training, Ambassadors will be placed at a local site in Alameda County to provide tech support and digital education to seniors and/or people with disabilities. Ambassadors will gain job-readiness skills through regular workshops and mentorship, with the opportunity to translate their work study experience into future jobs or internships.
Applicant Criteria:
- Must be a person with a disability
- Must reside in Alameda County
- Must be able to travel to Oakland and/or Berkeley
- Must be between the ages of 17 - 26
Program Highlights:
- Training provided in digital literacy, outreach, accessibility, and culturally competent engagement
- Monthly commitment: 10 - 12 hours per month (approximately 3 hours per week)
- Training begins in July 2025
- Up to 6 months of paid opportunity
- Pay: $350 per month
