As we continue to recover from the 2018 Eruption, we'd like to understand how the LCA Membership feels about the recovery of side roads within the subdivision. We appreciate your feedback! The Board of Directors

We now have a recent geological feature within our subdivision. It is a natural phenomena but one that has given us quite a shock. Which of the following statements best describes your attitude towards the lava field, now that you have lived near it for two years plus? (You can check more than one box.)

It should be left undisturbed. It is a geological feature that has scientific and aesthetic values. I would not like to see it carved up with trails and over-run with dirt bikes and a site for disrespectful activities.
I would like to see managed hiking trails and informative signs in the area for tourism. LCA would pay for managing the visitors and making sure that people were respectful to local homeowners. I would be OK with the increase in dues that it would take to hire employees to manage it.
Owners of lava-covered lots should be encouraged to rebuild homes on their properties and work at getting the previous look of their vegetated property back.
I live a good distance from the lava field, so it does not come to mind very often. I am comfortable with letting others plan the future of the area.
I would like to see tourism on the lava fields. We should allow a single reputable tour company to manage visitors and arrange parking and hiking. The tour company can make agreements with individual land owners to minimize disturbance.
We should allow any tour company that wants to visit the area to come in. There will be no attempt to manage them. There are not that many visitors that are interested anymore. If there is a problem, homeowners can call the police.
