🔥 Spark! Firestarter Award Nomination Form 2025

Help us celebrate the outstanding members of our community! We invite you to nominate a graduating Spark! Senior who exemplifies our values and has made a lasting impact. The deadline to submit nominations is Monday, May 12th, 2025 at 11:59 PM.

About the Award: 
The Spark! Firestarter Award honors graduating students who have gone above and beyond in embodying Spark!'s values and leaving a meaningful mark on our community.

Spark!'s values are captured in our five maxims: 1. Be an Explorer, 2. Unlock Possibilities, 3. Be you, Be whole, 4. Be a team, and 5. Make an impact. The following criteria will be used to evaluate nominees for Spark! Firestarter Awards:  


Nomination Criteria:
Nominees will be evaluated based on the following qualities

  • Catalyst: Made a unique impact fueled by passion for inclusive community thriving, at BU or beyond.
  • Explorer: Pursued new experiences, embraced discomfort, showed curiosity and courage, and sought new perspectives.
  • Innovator: Demonstrated creativity and innovation, unlocking new possibilities for themselves and others.

Reflective Questions About the Nominee
  1. Describe a specific moment, project, or action in which the nominee had a meaningful impact on Spark! or the broader BU community.

  2. How has the nominee demonstrated leadership, initiative, or the courage to explore new territory?

  3. In what ways has the nominee inspired others or contributed to building an inclusive and thriving community?

  4. Share an example of how the nominee has demonstrated creativity or innovation to solve a problem or improve a process, experience, or outcome.

  5. What lasting legacy or influence has the nominee left on the Spark! community or their peers?

  6. Is there anything else you’d like the selection committee to know about this individual?


Common Questions Regarding the Nomination Process

Q: Who is eligible to be nominated?
A: Any BU Spark! graduating senior is eligible for nomination, e.g. a student who participated in any Spark! program or course - as a teammate, a project manager, an ambassador, or any role where they made an impact on the Spark! community.

Q: How many people can I nominate?
A: There is no limit to the number of people you can nominate, but please submit a separate form for each nominee.

Q: Can I nominate myself?
A: No. However, you can encourage someone else to nominate you if you believe you meet the eligibility criteria.
