Dear All-Electric Vehicle Manufacturer,
We are a coalition of government and commercial fleets comprising organizations controlling an aggregate [100,000] motor vehicles across our collective operations. We eagerly encourage you to consider building an all-electric vehicle manufacturing facility in the Greater Houston area.
Zero emission vehicles, like the ones you produce, create opportunities for fleets like ours to adopt clean transportation technologies that benefit our economics, environment, and public health through reduced operating costs and emissions.
We are enthusiastic about these clean transportation opportunities. Some of our fleets have already committed to electrification targets, including those of the City of Houston, CenterPoint Energy, Ikea, PepsiCo with a combined [30,000] vehicles. Several others among us have current initiatives underway to conduct fleet electrification assessments as a precursor to potential further fleet electrification targets.
Fleets and consumers of the Houston region purchase more than 300,000 new vehicles annually, of which more than 70% are pickups and SUVs, and the all-electric portion of these purchases is rapidly growing. We buy the most trucks in the most truck-buying state in the nation, and as EV trucks come available, we envision Houston as the "EV Truck Capital of the World".
As a coalition of fleets, we are interested in purchasing vehicles that are built “Houston Strong” by local talent in the Greater Houston area. We urge you to select the Houston region as the location for your next all-electric vehicle manufacturing facility.
[we the undersigned Greater Houston fleet stakeholders]
