Application for Temporary Member Organizer Program
SEIU Local 668 is seeking members who are willing to take a 6 week leave of absence from their employment to work full-time for the union. Importantly, eligible members must work under a contract that allows leaves of this length. SEIU 668 will pay lost wages and the cost of your healthcare.

There are currently and will be member organizer opportunities in SEIU 668's Together We Rise program, external organizing and political programs.

We are accepting applications for Together We Rise Wave 3 until May 11, 2018.

Members who live or work in Chapters 3, 6, 7, 13 and 14 will be considered for Wave 3.
About the Work
SEIU 668 and many other unions across the country are launching innovative programs to educate members about the value of union membership and the serious impending threats to the rights of workers to have a union. At 668, our goal is talk to every member over the next year about what is at stake for our members and our members’ families. The TWR Member Organizers will be the first group of members who are trained to have in depth conversations with fellow members about these issues. Over the eight week period, in addition to participating in a number of trainings, member organizers will reach out directly to members in targeted worksites to engage them in conversations about the union. They will work closely with union staff, chapter leaders and stewards.
Requirements
Available to work irregular hours including some evenings and weekends. Your work week will likely not exceed 40 hours.

Valid driver’s license and access to an insured vehicle. You will have to travel a lot regionally to meet with members.

Mileage will be reimbursed at the IRS rate.

Proficiency (or willingness to learn) google docs, google sheets and other online programs.

A smart phone is not required but it will be extremely useful if you have one.
