MOPDC's 6th Annual Winter Intensive: Dance, Choreograph, Envision
Movement of the People Dance Company's Winter Intensive is for intermediate/advanced dancers and choreographers who are interested in embodying various dances of the African Diaspora as well as envisioning and creating evocative Dance Theater choreography that addresses sociocultural issues as a means to educate, inform and ignite dialogue.

There are 2 options for MOPDC's Winter Intensive:
1. FULL INTENSIVE: 8 technique classes, choreography lab/repertory + sharing; Early Bird Discount $175 till December 19th, $200 thereafter + tax
2. 8 TECHNIQUE WORKSHOPS Only: Early Bird Discount $80 till December 19th, $100 thereafter + tax

Workshops - Each day will start with 2-3 technique classes for a total of 8 classes for the entire weekend.

*This year we are honored to be joined by renowned Choreographer Camille A. Brown for a Choreographic Guest Discussion for Full Intensive participants!
Choreography Lab - Each day will conclude with 3 hours of collaborative group choreography making/solo work where participants will be lead through MOPDC's best practices in creating Socially Conscious Choreography.
Company Rep - Participants will embody and contribute to one of MOPDC's current company repertory works. They will engage in a condensed process exploration of how the piece was crafted and will share a section of the work during the studio sharing.
Studio Sharing - The Intensive will culminate in a free informal studio sharing of student work and excerpts of MOPDC company repertory. Participants will get the chance to discuss their process and receive audience feedback. Monday, Jan. 20th, 2020 @ 7pm.
