On July 7, Bard College accepted a major real estate transfer from the Galvan Foundation: more than 70 homes, apartments, and storefronts across the City of Hudson. This $50 million deal makes Bard one of the largest property holders in our community.
There was no public process. Tenants were not informed. Local leaders were not consulted. Bard has held no public meetings and offered no explanation of what this means for the people who live and work in these buildings. The silence is unacceptable.
We are the Hudson/Catskill Housing Coalition, and we are calling on Hudson residents, neighbors, and elected officials to demand answers. This is not just a real estate transaction. This is about people’s homes, livelihoods, and futures. The public deserves to be heard.
