CapitalGo 2018 Call for Talks!
Share your experience! Submit your presentation proposal to CapitalGo, the Mid-Atlantic's Go Developers conference.

CapitalGo will June 22 2018 at GMU's wonderful Founders Hall, in Arlington, VA, a fantastic venue for the speakers and attendees. We expect an audience of 150+ developers. This is a great opportunity to reach a large and influential audience of Mid-Atlantic gophers, and have a great time doing it!

We would like all our presentations to be 25 minutes long, including time for questions and discussion. But if you think otherwise for your presentation (longer or shorter), let us know what you want and convince us.

You do NOT have to be an experienced speaker or even an expert to present here. Some of our best speakers have been people who simply had a very interesting experience or perspective to relate.

The scope of talks includes a broad area, anything of interest our audience, as long as it is in the realm of Go programming (APIs, Scale, testing, web apps, code quality, etc. are OK). Also, this is a conference for everyone, so beginner topics are welcomed.

Keep in mind that our audience will be members of the software developers community, mostly software engineers and practicing developers, technical team leads, etc. Your presentation should appeal to them. Fun topics are encouraged, so please feel free to be creative. Everyone wants to have fun at a conference.

Proposals containing marketing-based content will mostly likely be rejected. An overt sales pitch will not get the reaction you want from our audience.

Submit as many proposals as you like. Panels or multiple presenter proposals are fine with us. All of the accepted presenters will receive a free ticket.

Since CapitalGo is a very inexpensive, community conference, we normally cannot reimburse travel expenses, except in special circumstances (if you need travel covered, please contact us). If your company is willing to pay for your travel, then we would be glad to provide them with a sponsorship.

We welcome proposals from everyone, and will evaluate each proposal on it own merits, regardless of the speaker's ethnicity, gender, age, sexual orientation, etc. We strive to be encouraging and inclusive of everyone in our community. Therefore, we expect all of our attendees, speakers included, to follow our code of conduct. See for the complete description of the code of conduct.

We plan to record all the presentations, and make the videos available online for free. If this isn't OK, that's fine with us, just please mention it in the submission (in the Message to Reviewers section).

We will begin evaluating proposals after 11:59:59 PM ET on Friday May 4, 2018. We might accept and announce a few (or even many) talks before that time. However, we will leave our CFP open until we have a complete program of at least 8 speakers.

If your presentation is accepted we ask you to consider NOT presenting it in the greater DC/Baltimore area in the weeks just prior to CapitalGo.

If you have any questions, please email us at info at nationconfs dot com. Your presentation is important to us. We want to help you make it great.
