Endorse "Living Wages, Thriving Communities".   A campaign for fair wages in human services in Illinois
Living Wages, Thriving Communities is advocating for increased state funding for human services contracts and pushing for wage increases for workers in the sector in Illinois. Our campaign convenes frontline workers, human services organizations, coalition partners, legislators, and the public to push the State to responsibly invest in the well-being of all​ Illinoisans by fairly funding the health and human services workforce.
While this will be an ongoing campaign, our asks of the General Assembly for FY27 budget are the following: 
  • Co-Sponsor and Support the Human Services Workforce Sustainability Act (HB4450 / SB2883)
  • Appropriate $5 M to invest in the Human Service Professional Loan Repayment Program (HB4362/SB2901) 
  • Support the creation of a Human Service Pay Equitable Taskforce (HB# coming soon!)
