How This Class is Seen via Effectiveness Rubric

The teacher effectiveness rubric is NYCs evaluation tool of choice. Our hope is to come to as many classes as possible, providing feedback on what we're able to see, in the moment. Please feel free to give us any suggestions. We may not evaluate all of the domains on any given visit, but our plan is to see as much as possible, as many times as possible. Your feedback on this process is always welcome.

Domain 1 - Planning and Preparation

This domain is essentially an observation of work outside of the classroom, before the class happens, asking you to be able to use a number of pieces to plan the use of class time. These include knowing the students, content, pedagogy and assessment strategies, and how to use resources. Here, we'll only look at 1E, Designing Coherent Instruction, which ought to show up on your lesson plan.
