Levels description
Absolute Beginners: New to Lindy Hop.

Beginner Boosters: Danced Lindy Hop between 4-6 weeks. Have seen one full cycle of quick-quick slow, 6-count, 8-count, and Charleston initiations. Attend the socials and are now beginning to use these elements in the dancing.

Improvers: Danced Lindy Hop for more than 6-8 months already. Are well versed with all the above, can transition from 6-count to 8-count and use Charleston all in the same song. Are able to dance keeping your frame and footwork at faster tempo.

Note:
If you've been exploring Lindy Hop on a casual basis, we encourage you to consider the Beginner Booster group. Building a strong foundation now can pave the way for faster progress later on. While it might be tempting to jump ahead, joining a group that aligns with your current skills ensures a smoother learning experience for everyone. Strong foundations can really help you soar in the future! If you're ever in doubt about the best fit for you, please reach out to us. We're committed to ensuring everyone has an enriching and enjoyable dance journey.

Roles in Lindy Hop dance
Lindy Hop is a partner dance that emphasizes communication between two persons:

Both dancers participate equally in connecting and creating rhythm to then create an enjoyable dance

These roles are independent of your gender identity.
During this workshop, which role would you like to take? *
Are you registering with a partner? (even though we will rotate dance partners within the class, we highly encourage you to look for follower or a leader for registration as we would like to have an even balance between followers and leaders) *
Name of your dance partner
Your optional contribution to our workshops.

All that Swing EPFL-UNIL is a student-run association. We therefore run on a very low budget. Your donation helps us cover workshop expenses and bring to life more fun events in the future.

We suggest a minimum contribution of CHF 10 and invite participants to reflect on their expenses in other cultural events (e.g. theater, concerts, cinema, and more) as a reference for their contribution.

Everyone is welcome in the workshop even if a financial contribution is not possible.

Access your TWINT app and then scan the QR code from the QR-Pay method in the app. Scanning directly from a mobile camera will not work.

We’ll have this QR code available the day of the event in case you cannot make the payment at the moment of registration.
