This summer, WiC+ is bringing back our book club discussing gender and intersectional topics in STEM!
As a refresher, the aim of the book club is to highlight and celebrate the achievements of women and gender-minority groups in STEM, discuss how gender has shaped scientific inquiry and progress, and illuminate the history of systemic issues that continue to create barriers to gender-minority groups in STEM today. The book club is open to all Chemistry Department graduate students and Post-Docs who identify as women, gender minorities, or their allies who are interested in these topics.
We will meet regularly (once every 2 weeks) on campus for ~1 hr meetings throughout the Summer Quarter to discuss a book (to be voted on by book club members). Attendance is NOT mandatory at all meetings, so feel free to pop by when you can, grab a snack, and chat about books with new friends!
Please indicate your interest below, and provide your email if you wish to be contacted about book club-related news in the future! We'll follow up via email on 6/17 with more info on the winning book and biweekly meeting time.
