Regional Rep Elections

Regional Representatives are elected for two-year terms. Election cycles for Regional Representatives will occur every year, with at least one new Representative per region being elected per year. As the Orange and Yellow regions have three total representatives, each year they will alternate which region elects two new representatives. As such, a total of eight new representatives will begin their positions each summer.

Candidate Expectations

Service on the Executive Board or as a Regional Representative for the Consortium does require a commitment of your time and energy. All candidates need to center and deeply engage in a racial justice framework and show a commitment to combating anti-Blackness in their work and themselves.

The minimum structured time commitment for Regional Representatives, as is noted in our Consortium Regional Representatives Structure Guiding Document, will include:

  • One monthly 1-hour meeting with Regional Representatives and the Membership Engagement Collective

  • One monthly check-in with Co-Representative(s)

  • Time commitment for Regional Representatives is 1-3 hours per week

  • Attendance at Summer Virtual Retreat
