Dragon Academy Relational Playground Agreement

Dragon Academy Relational Playground Agreement
Informed Consent for Relational Edgework Practice

Website: https://www.dragonacademy.love/
Current online course: https://www.dragonacademy.love/online-course

Please take a few minutes to read and fill out this agreement carefully. It outlines how the Dragon Academy Relational Playground operates in practice, including the shared values, core principles, and participation agreements that support nervous-system safety, self-responsibility, and staying present with complexity across all Dragon Academy contexts.

Participation in the Relational Playground is always voluntary and choice-based. Participants are never required to engage in any practice, interaction, or level of intensity. Choosing to pause, opt out, or withdraw is always respected.

Dragon Academy is not therapy, medical treatment, or mental health care, and participation does not replace professional mental health support. Participants are responsible for assessing their own readiness, capacity, and support systems, and for tracking their experience, communicating limits and needs, pacing themselves, and using the shared language and practices for regulating intensity and maintaining consent described below.

Orientation to the Work

Dragon Academy is a school of Relational Edgework. Our work explores power, desire, truth, intimacy, shadow, eros and agency through embodied relational practices.

We are oriented toward catalyzing lives of greater capacity, freedom, and range, including the ability to feel more, track more, and choose more.

We understand that this path involves ambiguity, intensity, and periods of destabilization as familiar patterns loosen and new capacities emerge.

We choose this path because we prioritize aliveness and presence over playing small or organizing life around comfort. We choose this path because we prioritize experiential discovery over conceptual understanding.

We practice this by training participants to orient to reality through lived experience before assigning meaning, recognizing that under pressure, premature interpretation can create a sense of safety while distorting perception and reducing capacity.

We understand integration to be a necessary complement to expansion, and that responsibility for integration is shared between Dragon Academy structures and participant self-stewardship.

Playground Structures and Tools
The following sections describe the principles, practices, and consent tools we use to support expansion, integration, and nervous-system safety, alongside each participant’s responsibility for tracking capacity, limits, and choice. These tools are intended to support presence, pacing, and conscious participation, not to escape discomfort, manage others, bypass experience, or prematurely resolve intensity.

Safe Words

To maintain a safe and attuned environment, we use specific safe words to create clarity and immediate action when needed.

Avocado – This word is used to STOP whatever is happening immediately. Once "Avocado" is called, the exercise or interaction stops, and everyone involved disengages and physically separates (e.g., going into a different room). If this word is called during an exercise, it is OVER - no exceptions.

Pause – This word is used to PAUSE whatever is happening. It does not end an exercise but creates a hiatus, allowing for an adjustment if something feels off. It is particularly useful if someone is feeling yellow (slightly activated) and needs support or wants to provide feedback before continuing.

Container Boundaries

Dragon Academy is a developmental and relational container, not a sexual or play-party space.

Because this work involves real human complexity and intensity, it is not possible to name every scenario that may arise. Instead, Dragon Academy holds clear, non-negotiable container boundaries alongside structured ramps for pacing, consent, and escalation. When in doubt, participants are expected to orient toward the most conservative interpretation of these boundaries and seek clarification rather than assume permission.

This work may involve emotional intimacy, being seen, naming desire, or experiencing erotic charge, even though sexual action is not part of the container. Participants are responsible for honoring their existing relationship agreements and orienting partners to the nature of this work when relevant.

By checking each box below, you agree to the following container boundaries:

Relational Charge Agreements

The following agreements clarify how relational and erotic charge are understood and held within Dragon Academy, so that intensity can be met with awareness and integrated without being rushed into outcome, identity, or action.

Media Policy: Dragon Academy sessions may be recorded or captured via screenshots for internal use. This includes sharing recordings with participants who were absent, facilitator review, training, content development, and future session planning.

We are attentive to context and sensitivity. We will not request consent to share neutral or non-revealing images, such as group photos of participants smiling or gathered together in a non-intimate moment.

We will always request explicit consent before sharing or publishing any media that includes emotional intensity, relational process, sexual or somatic content, power dynamics, confrontation, or vulnerability. For example, we would ask consent before sharing a video of you expressing strong emotion, engaging in conflict, or participating in a charged exercise.

You are welcome to request that your camera be turned off during your share or while participating in an exercise on the call.

Consent for media use may be withdrawn at any time prior to publication, and we will honor reasonable requests to remove content from public platforms.
