By joining our Veggie Box Program you make this schoolyard market garden program possible. Individuals purchase a "veggie box" during the season, making it possible for us to purchase seeds and garden supplies. In exchange, we commit to providing a weekly share of the harvest to you. As a "veggie box" subscriber you will receive a weekly email highlighting the vegetables in your box, recipes to share, market garden updates, and a weekly poem! We'll let you know about upcoming events on the market garden: from volunteer opportunities to field to fork dining events hosted onsite.
Our Veggie Box Program starts when you join and ends in November. Each subscription costs $20/ week and provides local, schoolyard grown vegetables for you and your family
A veggie box might include:
1 large leafy green: kale, chard or mustard
1 salad creation: salad mix, spinach or head lettuce
1 herb: cilantro, parsley or dill
1 root vegetable: carrots, beets or japanese turnips
1 crop of the week: zucchini, beans or garlic
Each pick-up will be held on Wednesdays at the Italian Cultural Centre or Tuesday at David Thompson Secondary school - both from 4:30 to 6:30 pm during our Good Food Market. Every Veggie Box subscriber will get 10% off any additional produce purchased at the market.
It is a tremendous gift to share schoolyard grown vegetables with you and we thank you for your support in engaging students through outdoor experiential learning. This is a tasty relationship and we're glad to grow together.
We are looking forward to sharing our harvest with you!
