Application for STAND Social Media Coordinator
General Duties
-Maintain STAND’s social media presence to reflect changing campaigns and the needs of STAND’s leadership and membership, including posting Facebook messages, Tweeting, and engaging users on these platforms.
-Regularly update our social media accounts with the latest news and analysis of our conflict areas, including but not limited to STAND blog posts.
-Develop relationships with other users through STAND’s accounts.
-Provide input to the STAND Leadership Team (SLT) on the best means of utilizing the online platform for campaigns, actions, and content.
-Constantly research and innovate new ways in which social media can be used to further STAND’s mission and goals.
-Research new mediums in which STAND should engage.
-Work with STAND’s Online Communications Coordinator to ensure messaging is consistent across all outreach platforms.
Accountability Obligations
-Check in biweekly with the Online Communications Coordinator to establish priorities.
-Complete biweekly metrics (via Google Docs) to allow the Online Communications Coordinator to track social media progress.
-Maintain regular contact with the Online Communications Coordinator and respond promptly to questions and requests.
-Communicate as needed with the United to End Genocide (UEG) communications staff regarding how social media may be leveraged in any joint STAND-UEG initiatives.
Required Skills
-Experience with Twitter, Facebook Pages, Google+, and other social media outlets
-Strong writing skills
-Creative thinking
-Ability and willingness to take initiative and occasionally get in over your head
-Good organization and time management skills
-Willingness to work with a team on any given project
-Ability to produce multiple pitches on the vuvuzela to contribute to the new STAND Band—please mail an 8-track tape to the office!
