PRESIDENT - Presides at all membership and Board meetings, serves as an ex-officio member of all committees and trains committee chairpersons. The President shall, with Board approval, create other committees not otherwise provided for and shall assign their duties. Prospective candidate must have been an active member for one year before the date of assuming office and shall have served on the Board of Directors at least one (1) year during the preceding three (3) years.
VICE-PRESIDENT - Assists the President and performs the duties of the President in her absence, serves as the Parliamentarian of JLGA, serves as chair of the Bylaws Committee, oversees and reports to the Board on activities of Provisional and Nominating/Placement Committees, oversees educational programs or speakers and is responsible for member recognition and meeting arrangements. The Vice-President is a candidate for the office of President for the succeeding term and such succession shall be automatic in the absence of other nominations. Prospective candidate must have been an active member for one year before the date of assuming office.
SECRETARY - Takes the minutes of membership and Board meetings, maintains an accurate record of member attendance at meetings, notifies the President when a quorum has been established at each meeting, conducts general correspondence of JLGA, keeps a correct list of names and addresses of all members, communicates with AJLI regarding membership status, handles memorials as provided in Policies & Procedures, is responsible for all internal communications and serves as a member of the Communications Committee.
TREASURER – Presents financial report at all membership and Board meetings, advises the Board on all matters relating to the financing of JLGA's administration and that of its activities and projects, prepares annual budget (to be approved by Board and ratified by membership) and annual Finance Committee report, researches various investment plans, keeps an accurate record of JLGA's investment portfolio and serves as chairperson of the Finance Committee. Prospective candidate must have been an active member for one year before the date of assuming office.
PROJECT COUNCIL COORDINATOR – Acts as a liaison between the Project Committees and the Board, is responsible for regular updates to the Board regarding the goals and activities of the Project Committees, oversees the implementation of the Issue Based Community Impact Program and the annual Council report and provides a sounding board and enthusiastic support for project committees.
FUNDRAISER COUNCIL COORDINATOR- Acts as a liaison between the Fundraiser Committees and the Board, is responsible for regular updates to the Board regarding the goals and activities of the Fundraiser Committees and the annual Council report and provides a sounding board and enthusiastic support for all fundraiser committees. The Fundraiser Council Coordinator shall not serve as a Chairperson on any fundraising committee.
SPONSORSHIP COORDINATOR- Works closely with the Secretary and Communications Committee to develop promotions and strategies (crowdfunding, special events, face-to-face meetings, annual appeals etc.) to solicit donor support through various media outlets, builds and maintains a donor database, presents an annual fundraising plan to the Board for approval and is strongly encouraged to attend ODI’s Sponsorship Track to gain fund-development knowledge and tools offered by AJLI.

You will be placed on at least 2 committees - one fundraising committee and one non-fundraising committee, per JLGA bylaws.
Offering to chair/co-chair any open slot will increase your chances of being placed on that committee. You will first become an elect for 2018-2019, to serve as the chair of that committee in 2019-2020.
Admissions/ProvisionalActively recruits new members. Plans and conducts informational meeting for prospective members. Plans and directs the provisional program for new members and, upon completion of the requirements, recommends candidates for membership.
Nominating/PlacementAnnually prepares a slate of candidates for Board positions, appoints all non-Board committee chairpersons, and places all members on required committees. Plans member retention events and promotes training opportunities for members and future leaders. Each member of the committee shall serve a 2-year term.
CommunicationsDevelops and executes the strategic communications plan for the JLGA, specifically focusing on external communication through traditional and social media.
FinanceTreasurer is the chairperson of this committee and Assistant Treasurer serves on the committee. The Asst. Treasurer shall collect and deposit all JLGA dues, assessments, and other monies; make payments in accordance with JLGA’s budget as approved; and keep full and accurate records of accounts.
Community OutreachPlans volunteer opportunities and short term projects in partnership with area organizations for members to participate in throughout the league year.
IBCI Project CommitteeThis committee will use the IBCI Model to assess the community's needs, recommend a program/cause/focus that fits with JLGA's mission and create an action plan to implement change/assistance in the community.
Sponsorship This committee will develop strategies to solicit donor support, will maintain current donor information and is responsible for presenting an annual fundraising plan to the Board for approval.
Special EventsPlans and coordinates special events fundraising efforts as they arise throughout the year, outside of general membership-approved fundraisers. The Fundraiser Council Coordinator will serve as the Chair of the Special Events Committee.
Fundraising CommitteesEach fundraising committee plans and executes a specific, approved fundraising activity. We will approve fundraisers for 2018-19 in March 2018.
