Please understand that you must take a history course at Swarthmore to receive credit for your study abroad course. We grant credit on a 1:1 basis, so if you have taken one history course, you will only get credit for one external course (abroad, AP, IB, etc). You will need to take additional history courses at Swarthmore to receive additional credits. You may only receive up to three external credits. We do not accept credits from other US institutions while enrolled at Swarthmore.
For more details, feel free to check out our website:http://www.swarthmore.edu/history/external-credithttp://www.swarthmore.edu/history/study-abroad
It is NOT ADVISABLE for seniors (students who go abroad during the first semester of their senior year) to expect credit for a history course abroad if they have yet to earn an internal history credit at Swarthmore.
