Under Utah law (Utah Code § 53G-9-205.2), certain food additives such as artificial food colorings (like Red 40, Yellow 5, Blue 1), potassium bromate, and propylparaben may not be served at school without parent permission.

Throughout the semester, my classroom may occasionally involve food items as part of classroom activities, celebrations, instructional projects, incentives, school events, or other educational activities. Some of these food items may contain one or more prohibited food additives under Utah law.
