PSSS Seabird ID quiz
Thank you for your interest in the Puget Sound Seabird Survey, a community science program dedicated to documenting marine birds along nearshore habitat throughout Puget Sound. This quiz is meant to provide Seattle Audubon with a standardized way to learn more about everyone's identification skills, and will aid us in putting together survey teams. Although this may not accurately reflect your true birding prowess, it is a helpful way for us to learn more about your familiarity with identifying seabirds. There are 15 questions, and should take you no more than about 10 minutes.
In order for us to assess your identification ability, please do not use any external materials (including books and internet resources) when taking the quiz. If you are unsure or cannot make an educated guess, please use the "Don't know" option. Thank you!
THANKS to Dennis Paulson, Mick Thompson, Kim Stark, and Alan Schmierer for images. If you have any questions, please email Toby Ross at
