FAMILY OF GOD LUTHERAN CHURCH - June 9th: BBQ Warriors are needed to serve a meal at 1:00pm for about 100 people. Set up is at 11:15am. Bring a smile and the love of Jesus. (For more information, contact Don Lozen carllauson@yahoo.com)
CAMP RESTORE, EAST DETROIT - June through July: Campers come from all over the country to volunteer with Camp Restore. Small groups of 5-10 people from Cross of Christ are needed to prepare and deliver a morning breakfast and an evening meal to refuel these campers. POWER COMPANY KIDS CLUB - FOOD DRIVE - by July 15: Looking for donations of items to use for POWER COMPANY KIDS CLUB event on July 18th. Boxes of Vanilla or Chocolate Jello or Pudding / granola or protein bars / Cans of Tuna / Kraft Mac &Cheese / Large Spaghetti Sauce / Cans of vegetables (corn, peas, green beans) / plastic jars of grape jelly and peanut butter. POWER COMPANY KIDS CLUB - Wednesday, July 18: At Baldwin Park, Pontiac MI from 10:30am to 1:00pm. During the summer PCKC takes their programs to the streets for Power Company in the Parks, as they connect with the children through ministry and feeding programs in our city's neighborhoods. Be a part of it!!!! No children under age of 14, please. Setup and Teardown, Assist with Games and Activities, Serve Children Lunch, Load Bagged Groceries into Buses for Children Taking the Home. VACATION BIBLE EXPERIENCE: Monday, July 23-Friday July, 27 & Sunday, July 29 - A week-long, super-fun kids’ camp from 9am-12pm featuring music, crafts, gym time, and cool Bible lessons. KIDS COALITION AGAINST HUNGER: July 29 - Assemble food packets that will be distributed to hungry children locally, nationally and world-wide. The packing event is Sunday, July 29 and will begin at 12:00pm and last until around 5:00pm, with a light lunch preceding. Additionally, about 10 adults are needed to help set up for the event. HABITAT FOR HUMANITY: August 2 - Partner with Habitat for Humanity to complete exterior home repairs, weatherize homes, and help with yard cleanup and landscaping. You can also volunteer to help with registration, setting up, and lunch at the August event and at other events throughout the summer. LIFE REMOLDELED - October 1 through October 6th: Join 10,000 other volunteers to revitalize the neighborhood surrounding Durfee Elementary Middle School by helping with basic landscaping, building park benches, bus shelters and more. (For more information, contact John Irvine)
