BASKETBALL - Sundays. Dec - March - HopeTree Salem and BRAAC Roanoke,
 Coaches will advise times for each team.  Tournaments will be played in Feb and March TBD
SOCCER - Sept - Oct.
UNIFIED BOCCE - Watch for info about local practices and tournaments Details TBA

SWIMMING - Feb - June
LITTLE FEET MEET - April TBA-- Roanoke College
SOFTBALL - Sundays. Spring and Summer Beginning May 1

FLAG FOOTBALL - Watch for info about a clinic and tournament at Virginia Tech. Local practices TBA.
ROLLER SKATING - Fall 

Vaccinations against Covid 19 are encouraged but NOT required for sports participation at this time.  We track vaccination status of all participants to be able to manage safety and group size when risk levels rise.  

Masks and social distancing will be encouraged and required at some facilities.  Only fully registered athletes and volunteers will be allowed in the activity areas. 

So let’s get ready to return to Special Olympics sports. If you completed forms recently, they are good for 3 years! Email new forms and records to: southwest@specialolympicsva.org

1.  Make sure your medical and registration is current.  Download a form here if you are new or your previous medical form is more than 3 years old: https://tinyurl.com/AthleteMedicalReleaseWaiver
2.   Sign up for the sports opportunities you are interested in.  You MUST SIGN UP IN ADVANCE to be eligible to attend.  We will confirm your registration.
3.    Watch for more details in your email and see you at the first practice.

Bowling League--
Oct- March.. Saturdays 10:00 am-12:00 pm. at Lee Hi Lanes, Salem.  Start date and details TBD.
Unified Basketball
Sundays December- 4, 11 & 17. continuing Jan 8 - March,  at the Hope Tree Gym 860 Mt. Vernon Lane, Salem and BRAAC in Roanoke. Once you submit your registration, coaches will advise teams on times and locations.
Basketball Tournaments
Basketball Invitational Tournaments--players will have the chance to attend: Southwest Regional Basketball Tournament at Cassell Coliseum VT, Roanoke Invitational Tournament at Roanoke College, Other invitationals, and the SOVA Basketball Championships in Stafford in March.
Swimming-
Swimming will be held at  Kirk YMCA Feb - June TBD.  
Unified Bocce
Bocce is a fun game that is suited for all abilities levels.  DATES and TIMES TBA soon!  We will email you with details.
Track and Field - Little Feet Meet  Roanoke College
Track and field event for Kindergarten- 5th grade. April TBD
Unified Softball
Softball practice--Sundays April -June at HopeTree fields.  
Track and Field - Big Feet Meet
Big Feet Meet - Sept. 2023  The Big Feet meet is a track and field event for middle, high school and adults and will be held at William and Fleming High School.  The meet starts around 9 am and goes till early afternoon. 
Soccer
Soccer practices are every Sunday Sept  - Nov  at Hope Tree fields in Salem.  Athletes age 8-18 practice 3-4 pm.  Athletes over 18 practice 5-6:30 pm. 
Unified Flag Football
There will be a clinic in the fall and local programs will schedule their practices. DATES and TIMES TBA
