Step 2: Put us on your calendar!

If you can't make the meetings, but want to help us deliver messages, please contact
. If you're committed to helping us solve cases, we are committed to working with you!
Step 3: Review/bookmark our role-specific resources for Messengers
Take a *quick* look at case solving training, just to get a feel for it. We know that it is long and dense! You don't need to memorize it, but you'll want to be able to reference it later. You can find it here:
Take a look at the Cold Case Committee dashboard. It contains a bunch of resources and information that you'll want to be able to access.
Step 4: Review and accept the volunteer codes for messages
You can access the codes here:
Step 5: Listen, shadow, learn, do.
Join a Cold Case meeting, just to shadow. You won't be asked to do anything right away. The meeting calendar is at
At the end of the meeting, you'll have the option to shadow a mentor on a case that they are working on. Your mentor will follow up with you that week and set up some teaching opportunities.
Once you've learned from your mentor and gotten their stamp of approval, you'll be able to take your own cases at the next meeting.
