MIT Panhellenic New Member Scholarship Application 2017
Statement of Purpose
The MIT Panhellenic New Member Scholarship is an initiative designed to offset some of the initial costs of joining a sorority. The Fund will award three $250 scholarships to three Panhellenic new members who demonstrate the following qualities:
-A strong commitment to their chosen sisterhood and to the Panhellenic community as a whole
-A clear need and purpose for the award
Money from the fund may be used to address dues associated with chapter membership.

-Full-time undergraduate student at MIT under good ethical and academic standing
-New member who has accepted a bid from one of our campus’ seven Panhellenic sororities and is anticipating initiation
-Not a previous recipient of a Panhellenic Scholarship nor a current recipient of a Chapter Scholarship

This form will be closed at 11:59 PM on October 1st, 2017. Applications received after this time will not be considered. Individuals will be notified of the status of their application by October 9th.

Scholarship Review Process
Applications will be thoroughly read by Panhellenic Executive board members who will remain confidential about any information disclosed in applications. They will select the scholarship recipients based on the criteria listed above. Priority will be placed on the expressed need of the applicant. All eligible are encouraged to apply. If you have any concerns about any part of this application in terms of disclosure, privacy, or anything at all, please contact or the FSILG Office at and your concerns will be reviewed by the Panhellenic Advisor.

Additional Information
-Awards are taxable and sent via MIT Direct Deposit
-Candidates selected to receive scholarship funds who then do not follow through with initiation are subject to disciplinary action
