In early September, the students will be introduced to this assignment and divided into teams. Then the teams will have the liberty to choose with which businesses and organizations they would like to work. By early October, each student team will meet with their client to learn about the specific needs and goals of the organization and the purpose that the site should serve. Over the course of the semester, the students will then design and build the website with an online website software program, incorporating text and photographs provided by the organization.
In early December, the students will meet with their clients to show early drafts of the websites and get feedback on what should be modified in order to better meet the needs of the organization. Students will be required to make changes based on the input from their clients. At the end of the semester, in mid- December, ownership of the websites will be turned over to the respective organizations. Students will be encouraged to use a no-cost website builder and web hosting service that should be easy for the client to use. Those with average computer skills should find their sites easy to modify once they assume ownership.
If your business or organization is in need of a website, or if it would benefit from a redesigned site, then please fill in the following form. Unfortunately, because we may have more interest than we are able to accommodate, not all organizations that apply will be chosen. Please fill out this form no later than Aug. 15th, 2019 to ensure that your organization is included for consideration. You should hear from the student teams at the beginning of September if your organization has been selected. Feel free to contact Professor Richard Kedzior (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you have any questions about this project. We hope to have the opportunity to work with you.
