Mercy In Action Day - October 26
On Saturday, October 26th St. Rafka Church & St. Michael's will partner to participate in several community outreach projects, such as packing snack packs for children in need, making Halloween Candy Jars for St. Christine's and more for the 4th Annual MERCY IN ACTION DAY from 9:00 AM –12:00 PM.
Volunteers who register by Thursday, October 3rd will receive a free t-shirt, so please indicate your size.
Volunteers of all ages are welcome! People under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. All volunteers meet for check-in in the Cafeteria, doors will open at 8:45am.
Mercy in Action Service Day Timeline:
9:00 am – 9:30 am: Check-in and continental breakfast in cafeteria
9:30 am - 10:00 am: Opening prayer, gathering of volunteers & instructions for the day.
10:00 am - 12:00 pm: Work on projects
12:00 pm: Reflection & Closing Prayer
All volunteers must print & sign the waiver and return it to the church. Volunteers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult and have an adult sign the last page of the waiver.

If you want to work on a SERVICE PROJECT please select one:
Decorate and fill candy jars for St Christine's Soup Kitchen
Make a Rosary (with rope) that will be sent to Missionaries overseas
Use your "Scrapbooking" talents to make cards and book marks
Serve cookies to American House Residents when our students sing and entertain them
Fill purses with hygiene products for a warming center in Detroit
Make a bag lunch "Snack Pack" for children who go without meals on weekends
Cut pattern, SEW or stuff animal for cancer patients at St Mary's Hospital
Make a fleece blanket for PBJ Ministries
Deliver meals for home bound seniors
Sort cans and bottles received from our bottle drive, and take to store for monies
DONATIONS NEEDED If you want to participate by making a donation (instead of doing a project) we are collecting the following items:
Clothing in the SVDP pod located in the church parking lot on October 25, 26 and 27
New TOYS which will be given to Fr. Marko's Christmas Store
Bottle and Can drive (with deposits ONLY, no water bottles). Monies will go to St Michael's SVDP
Books, new and gently used, for all ages. They will be donated to an organization that teaches people how to read.
Donate materials needed to make this day a success by October 20.
