Missouri Master Naturalist Inquiry Form
Thank you for your interest in the Master Naturalist Program. The Master Naturalist Program is designed to train volunteers to work on conservation related projects at Missouri Department of Conservation properties, as well as parks and other green spaces in the region.

The Master Naturalist program consists of an initial training (a minimum of 40-hours of class which includes lecture and field sessions) and continuing annual requirements of 40 volunteer hours and 8 hours of advanced training.  If accepted into the class, there will be a $110.00 fee (subject to change). Volunteer opportunities and advanced training are organized by local Master Naturalist chapters for members in the region. We ask that those who are interested solely in the training, and not participating in volunteering activities, pursue other educational opportunities to allow space for volunteers to be trained.

The St. Louis Region consists of three Master Naturalist Chapters (Great Rivers- St. Louis County/City, Confluence – St. Charles County, and Miramiguoa- Franklin County). Chapter members participate in projects throughout the region and often collaborate across county lines on volunteer projects. Members often choose to participate in the chapter associated with their county of residence, but many associate with a chapter unrelated to their county of residence.

There is a high amount of interest in the Master Naturalist Program in the St. Louis region, as such, a long waiting list exists for the program in the region. We are working to develop training plans and options to work through our backlog and increase annual enrollment numbers in future years. As annual training plans develop, those who have been on the waiting list the longest will receive information about the training schedule (times and locations vary year to year) and be offered the opportunity to register. We appreciate your interest in the Master Naturalist program, and your patience in participating in the training.

This inquiry form is for the following counties only. ST. LOUIS, ST. CHARLES OR FRANKLIN counties in Missouri. If you are from another county, please check with your local MU Extension or Missouri Department of Conservation office to see if the program is offered in your county.
