This is the signup for 2026 Volunteers for the Cow Neck Chapter of ReWild Long Island.
If you sign up here, you will be added to a List called dodgevolunteers@rewildlongisland.org to keep you updated on volunteer opportunities.  We also have a volunteer portal (called Vicnet) where you create an account to keep track of your volunteer hours.

OPPORTUNITIES TO VOLUNTEER
Whether you like spreading the word or putting your hands in the dirt, we need all kinds of volunteer to help us!
  • Sustainable Gardening with Native Plants and Organic Veggies at Dodge Garden
Meets every Saturday from 9 - 11 AM at the ReWild Garden at Dodge, Port Washington. Put your hands in the dirt, pull weeds, compost and learn from one another. Friendly space - families and supervised kids welcome!
  • ReWild Summer Program to Fight Hunger and Climate Change
Over 75 local high school aged youth will be “learning by doing” at local gardens, preserves and waterfront. Mentors welcome!
  • Sustainable Garden Tour
Be a host, or help us organize Long Island’s Longest Running Sustainable Garden Tour here in Port Washington.
  • Native Plant Sales
Help us unload, sort, label and deliver thousands of native plants to community gardens and local families. We need help in late April (for the Spring Sale) and early October (for the Fall Sale).
  • Tabling at Local Fairs and Events
No prior experience required. Help us get the word out. Meet and talk to neighbors about how our gardens can better support Long Island’s vital ecosystems.
  • Social Media and Administrative
Want to help us from the comfort and convenience of your home? Use your skills in accounting, social media, grant writing and many other committees that help run ReWild.
  • Your Idea Here
Or come up with your own idea to help humans share the island with native wildlife, and let us help you implement it.

WHY VOLUNTEER WITH REWILD?
Volunteers who contribute 10 hours of work will be eligible for rewards
  • Discount: Volunteers will receive a 20% off discount code to our Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 Native Plant Sales.
  • Exclusive early access: The first few days of the plant sale will be reserved for volunteers with a discount code only. This is to ensure that limited stock plants are preferentially given to ReWild volunteers as a reward for community service.
  • Joy and Satisfaction: Most of all, our volunteers enjoy the immense satisfaction of working with neighbors, without rancor, towards the well-being of people and wildlife!
