A statewide network of stakeholders has created Learning Begins at Birth, a resource booklet to help new and expectant parents in Nebraska better guide the early development of their youngest children.
The booklet is being produced by a multi-organizational work group representing state agencies and service systems, early childhood professionals, higher education, public policy partners and others. It is made possible through Nebraska's federal Preschool Development Grant, administered through the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services under the authority of Governor Ricketts.
According to Nebraska statute 79-1902, every Nebraska parent of a child born in this state is to receive a copy of this resource, which addresses developmental stages, health, indicators of quality child care settings and other issues important to the lifelong outcomes of young children. You can read more about Learning Begins at Birth online on at

Learning Begins at Birth will be freely distributed to parents at no cost, but we need your help to ensure it reaches the families it is intended for. As an organization or practitioner who has regular contact with expectant parents and/or parents of children ages 0-5, you play an important role in the success of this project. Please take a moment to complete our order form below to have free copies of this resource sent directly to you for distribution among the families you serve.
