Swim Across America
“Swim Across America” (SAA) is probably unfamiliar to almost each of us at LCS. However, for those who have contracted cancer or are being treated for it, the organization represents hope. It raises funds for cancer research. The treatment Mr. Baranek is currently receiving stems from the research supported by SAA and other organizations like it. We have the opportunity to help defeat cancer by volunteering to help at the SAA event this summer on Belle Isle. We have asked Mr. Baranek to attend since he is someone we love and who is benefiting from the cancer research performed in previous years. On Saturday, July 13 the event will begin early in the morning but our volunteers will be responsible for helping between approximately 10:00 a.m. until approximately 2:00 p.m. We will be the “clean-up” group. We are seeking 10-20 high school or adult volunteers (younger students are also welcome) to represent LCS and demonstrate our support for Mr. Baranek, who continues to receive treatment for his cancer. If you are able to commit now (we know how busy summer can be) we won’t need to scramble at the last minute to find volunteers. It is easy work, and we can do a small part in helping people like Mr. Baranek combat their cancer. Please complete the info below and someone will contact you with details.
Name(s) of Volunteer(s) who commit to representing LCS at SAA on Belle Isle from 10am to 2pm on Saturday, July 13, 2019.
