We recognize there are many student groups at our faculty, including groups that have not yet been formally created. As the Graduate Student Association, we are creating a process for student groups to formally register with us, so we are aware of the active groups on campus and thus are able to best support your group moving forwards.
You may use the following form to register your existing student group with the GSA or let us know if you are interested in starting a new student group and need support on how to do so.
After completing this form, if you had indicated any items that you would like the GSA to follow-up to support you with, we will then contact you to discuss further. Note: this would be separate from any club-related discussions the faculty holds. We want to know how we, as the GSA, can support you.
Sample topics we can support you with:
- How to start a club/group on campus
- Applying to the GSA's Student Initiative Fund (SIF)
- Other funding support you have access to at UofT
- Who to contact to book classroom or meetings rooms at FIFSW
- Who to contact for postering on campus
- How to collaborate/partner with the GSA for activities outside the scope of the SIF
In addition, registering with the GSA will allow your student group the opportunity to be on a new campus directory of active student groups at FIFSW, which we will host on our GSA website. We hope this provides another means for students to easily be aware of which student groups are active, learn a little more about your group, and how they can connect with you.
Your group will only need to complete this registration form once per academic year (September - August). You may complete this form anytime in the academic year, there is no deadline in which a student group must register with the GSA.
As a reminder this registration process exists, simply just to flag for the GSA that your group is active in a given academic year so we can more easily follow-up to provide any supports you may be interested in!
