Call for Faculty Presenters for "The Digital Learning Environment: Engaging Students in the Classroom, and Beyond" - SITT 2018 (September 14th)
We invite you to help make this year’s Summer Institute on Teaching and Technology (SITT) an engaging event by sharing your teaching experiences and insights with your colleagues.

Academic Technology Services (ATS) invites UC Davis faculty to share how using technology helped faculty create successful learning experiences, meet pedagogical goals, and solve instructional challenges.

Selected faculty will share ten-minute presentations for an audience of about 80 colleagues with time for audience questions.

SITT takes place on September 14th, from 8:30am - 4:30pm. More information will be posted on The Wheel as the date nears (http://wheel.ucdavis.edu/).

This year’s theme is “The Digital Learning Environment: Engaging Students in the Classroom, and Beyond.” Fitting topics might include the following:

-- Encouraging student engagement
-- Using Canvas to support a variety of teaching modes, including face-to-face, hybrid, and online
-- Teaching large classes effectively
-- Providing feedback or grades to students using online rubrics or personal response systems
-- Creating student-centered motivation and reward systems for learning, sometimes called gamification
-- Organizing instruction and course materials in Canvas
-- Teaching with video
-- Active Learning
-- Using mobile technologies inside and outside the classroom

To be considered for one of the presentation slots, and receive some feedback from other UC Davis faculty, please answer the questions below. We hope to receive initial responses by Friday, June 15th, 2018.
