Action Camp: Leveling Up the Jewish Left
These past six months have been an unprecedented time of of activity, engagement and protest from the Jewish Left. Organizations like IfNotNow,  Never Again Action, Bend the Arc, JFREJ, JUFJ, Tru'ah and others have seen a huge rise in participation and escalation. Thousands of Jews have put their bodies on the line to unapologetically disrupt institutions of white supremacy, antisemitism and oppression. Experienced action leaders have stepped up into larger, more complex and riskier roles while hundreds more people have taken on action roles for the very first time. There is now an enormous amount of momentum as well as direct action skill and knowledge across our movements.

In order to be prepared for the action this political moment calls for, , we need to level up our action skills even more. This action camp is designed to build the non-violent direct action skills and capacity of the Jewish left to strengthen all of our movements.

This training is for people who are not fucking around. This is for serious leveling up of your action skills with a commitment to taking responsibility for ongoing escalation. Nadine Bloch of Beautiful Trouble will be leading this workshop with a training team of organizers from IfNotNow, Jews Against White Nationalism, Never Again Action, and more to come!

This training includes 2 tracks:
--> The Experienced Leaders Track (Training for Trainers) is 4 days long (October 31-November 3): the first 2 days will be training and the next 2 days will be applying skills learned at the T4T by leading and supporting the newer actions leaders Action Upgrade Training.
--> The Actions Upgrade Track is for folks newer to action and runs Saturday and Sunday.
--> Priority will be given to those who will be attending as a group (across either track) from their city.

Logistics:
--> The fee for participation is $118, and scholarships will be available by application.
--> Applications are due on Monday, October 7th.
--> The training will take place in the DC area. T4T participants should expect to arrive by 9am on Thursday, October 31. Actions Upgrade Trainings should expect to arrive by 9am on Saturday, November 2.

**A note on Shabbat observance!**

Due to the constraints of capitalism (but thanks to the hard-fought victory of the weekend from our labor organizer movement ancestors), we are holding this training on shabbat, the Jewish day of rest. We understand that this might conflict with some people's practices of observance, and it might be exactly the way that others choose to engage in this holy day.

We are committed to the following practices:
- No activities that require writing on shabbat
- Presentations/full group activities will be analogue on shabbat
 - We will do our best to find hosts within walking distance of the training location

If you have questions about any of this, or if you have additional Shabbat concerns not addressed here, please do not hesitate to be in touch!

Questions? Feel free to reach out to Sarah O'Connor (sarahroseoconnor@gmail.com).
Note: We estimate this will take you 10-15 minutes to fill out. If you would prefer to share your responses verbally via phone conversation, please reach to Sarah (email listed above).
