2022 VDM Visual Artist Application
Are you interested in participating in live on-location visual art creation on July 30, 2022, for about 2-5 hours for a local queer cause?

*** Applications are open until June 20, 2022. ***

This project is part visual art, part performance, and part fundraiser for the Vancouver Dyke March.

Art creation takes place during the 2022 Vancouver Dyke March and Festival at Grandview Park. The festival begins at approximately 1:00pm and continues to 5:00pm. Artists will be asked to arrive at Grandview Park for set-up by 12:00pm, and to remain on site with their art piece until at least 3:00pm. Art creation will take place alongside our stage performances, so anticipate having an audience!

We anticipate having about 2-4 visual artist spots available, depending on our financial circumstances. We will provide a 30" high x 40" wide canvas and an easel which will hold this canvas in landscape orientation. We will also provide a small $200-$300 honourarium towards each artist's time and materials. Please contact us, or let us know in this form, if you would like to request to receive a portion of the honourarium in advance of the event to assist with materials expenses.

We will ask that you agree to donate the art that you create in connection with this event to the Vancouver Dyke March, and that you permit us to sell, auction, or donate your artwork to benefit the Dyke March or other non-profit organizations.

Artists will be required to review and sign a code of conduct consistent with the vision and mission of the Dyke March, with the signed code of conduct to be returned to the Dyke March by July 2, 2022.

For any questions about the event or for more information about our visual art project that took place last year, please reach out to the Vancouver Dyke March board.

All artists are welcome to apply. We will give priority to artists who are part of marginalized groups within our community.

Our event will be subject to any COVID-19-related rules then in place.
